GOVERNOR DANBABA STARTS LEGAL BATTLE TO GET JOB BACK

Taraba state governor Suntai Danbaba
(right) has refused to return to
hospital to continue treatment on his
brain injuries. Instead,
he has sued the Speaker and members
of the state's House of Assembly for
usurping his powers. This makes an
already complicated matter more
complex as some reports allege that
Danbaba's wife has admitted to a PDP
fact-finding committee that her
husband was indeed unfit to resume
duties as governor.
Deputy governor Alhaji Umar Garba
(left) has been acting in his place and
continued to do so despite Danbaba's
desire to resume his function as the
elected governor. When Garba visited
Danbaba as part of the fact-finding
committee, he had to formally
introduce himself to Danbaba because
he allegedly did not recognize him.
Following Danbaba's request to take
back his job, the House directed that
he returned to hospital to complete his
treatment and get medical clearance to
certify that he was fit to assume the
duties of governing the state.
