NIGERIAN FOOTBALL TEAMS SUSPENDED AFTER SCORING 79 - 0 AND 67 - 0 IN CRUCIAL MATCHES

Nigerian football authorities are
investigating how two matches in
amateur play-offs in Bauchi state
ended in 79 - 0 and 67 - 0. Plateau
United Feeders and Police Machines
who scored the mind boggling number
of goals against their opponents
needed comfortable wins to qualify for
upgrade to the national league. The
teams have been suspended
indefinitely and all the teams and
officials involved in the matches are
now being investigated. Meanwhile the
146 goals scored by both teams have
been wiped off the scores board. It
remained unclear if bribery was
involved in the farcical matches.
