SAD!! Village head and four others killed in fresh Plateau violence

No fewer than five persons have been killed and scores injured in a fresh violence among Fulani, Jukun and Tarok indigenes in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State. The incident occurred when some armed youths attempted to invade the local government between 6am and 11am, but were repelled by the Special Task Force (STF). STF spokesman, Capt. Salisu Mustapha, confirmed the incident. Mustapha said the violence was a reprisal of last Friday’s attack on Taka Lafiya in which the village head was killed. He said another attack was unleashed on Nin Duwi on Sunday night in which two persons were also killed and 16 houses set ablaze. The village head of Taka Lafiya, Muhammad Abubakar, and one elderly blind man, Umar, were shot dead on Friday night when militants invaded the village.
