Beyonce was a good girl till she met me...I made her gangsta-JayZ

In the recent issue of Vanity Fair, Jayz
who is on the cover opens up on his
drug past and also talks about Beyonce,
how hard it was to impress her and says
he changed her from a good girl to a
gangsta.

On Drug dealing

''I know about budgets. I was a
drug dealer. To be in a drug deal,
you need to know what you can
spend, what you need to re-
up.Not until later, when I realised
the effects on the community,I
started looking at the community
on the whole, but in the
beginning no.

'I was thinking about surviving. I
was thinking about improving my
situation. I was thinking about
buying clothes.''You have to have
an exit strategy, because your
window(for dealing drugs) is very
small. You're going to get locked
up or you're going to die

On dating Beyonce..

'''We were just beginning to try to
date each other. Well, you know,
you've got to try first. You got to
dazzle ... wine and dine.''If I’m as
cool as I am, yes. But she’s a
charming Southern girl, you know,
she’s not impressed... But I
would have definitely had to be
this cool.'
He also confirms that the line on
his latest album: 'She was a good
girl ’til she knew me' is about his
wife.
When quizzed if she is no longer a
'good girl', Jay-Z responds: 'Nah.
She’s gangsta now.'

How we robbed Pasuma of his Range sport & shared the money- Robber confesses

The suspects identified as Fatai
Balogun, Wale Akinjobi and Gbenga
Kolawole during interrogation,
confessed to have come all the way
from Ogun state to operate.

A source, who craved anonymity told
Crime Alert that the police launched a
manhunt for the gang after Pasuma’s
encounter, during which they were
intercepted.
The gang, as gathered, also attacked a
wealthy man in Iju Ishaga area of
Lagos,where they robbed him of
N500,000, his mobile phones and other
valuables. After the operation, one of
them, Wale who resides around the
area reportedly dug a hole at the back
of his compound where he buried his
weapon.

But unknown to him, a resident said to
have sighted him,  alerted the police
who quickly arrested him and
transferred him to the SARS.During
interrogation, Wale reportedly
confessed that his gang robbed Pasuma
of his Range Rover Sport Utility Vehicle,
SUV, and an unspecified amount of
money, four months ago in Lagos. His
confessional statement, as gathered, led
to the arrest of other suspected
members.

Fatai Balogun, told  Crime Alert that
leader of the gang, Ade, got the highest
share from Pasuma’s loot.
“He was the one who searched
Pasuma and collected money from
him. But  nobody knew the
amount he got. Few days later, he
bought a Toyota Camry car with
the loot but gave us peanuts. I
have gone on several operations
with Ade. One of them was at
Ajah area where we snatched a
car at gun point along Epe road.

We did that operation with Ade’s
car but we had a little problem on
the road after Ade ran into a
ditch. We had to  abandon the car
when policemen came looking for
us but Ade later sent a towing
vehicle to retrieve the car.
Wale  brought the job that landed
me in trouble. He told me there
was a rich man who lives in his
area, that  he would want me to
follow him execute the job
because he does not have the
expertise to do it. I accepted
because the job was an easy one,
as there won’t be much huddles
getting inside. We were three in
number that went for the
operation.

I took N120,000 and gave Wale
and Gbenga their share. I sold
the laptops we took from the
man for N40,000 each and at the
end, I relocated to my base in
Abeokuta, Ogun State. I don’t
know how Wale mishandled  the
gun he used for the operation,
which led to his being sighted by
one of his neighbors,”he stated.

Terrible: Market woman, 60, allegedly shot by policemen in Akwa Ibom (PICTURED)

Policemen deployed in Akwa Ibom State
to quell a riot are alleged to have shot a
60 year old woman, identified as Comfort
John.

The officers were assigned to the Afaha
Offot Market in the state during a protest
by the market women over the
demolition of  their stalls.
According to reports , the policemen had
stormed the market to disperse the
protesters, who were demonstrating
against the Uyo Capital City Development
Authority, when Mrs. John was shot.

John, who had a stall in the market, was
coming back from Itam Market on Friday
where she had gone to purchase goods.
One of her daughters, Miss Patricia John,
said that as soon as her mother stepped
into her shop, the protesting women
were seen running in every direction as
riot policemen fired gunshots and teargas
canisters at them.

She said, “One of the bullets hit my mum
on the thigh. The riot policemen, who
shot her fled. If not for the Divisional
Police Officer, ‘C’ Division, Mr. Mike Esu,
who helped me to take my mum to
University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, my
mum would have died just for nothing.”

The village head of Afaha Offot, Mr. David
Etuk, who condemned the attack, said he
did not understand the rationale behind
the demolition of Afaha Offot Market by
UCCDA.
He said the inhabitants of the area had
been operating at the market for over
100 years, adding that it was difficult to
explain what prompted the UCCDA to
embark on the demolition of the market
without any prior notice.

He said, “The UCCDA has never come to
Afaha Offot Market to mark the place for
demolition. There was no previous
warning whatsoever. What we noticed on
that fateful Friday was the demolition
exercise being carried out by UCCDA.

“Our women have been selling in this
market for over 100 years. If they feel
the place should no longer be used by
market women, let them provide an
alternative place for them.
“We are going to write a protest letter to
the government over the decision of the
UCCDA to demolish the only market we
have.”

President of the Afaha Offot Market, Mrs.
Anna Robert, said the goods the authority
destroyed were worth N200m. She added
that since that day, the women had been
staying at home with no money to feed
their families.
She stated that some of the women
selling in the markets were widows and
that they used the proceeds from sales in
the market to fend for their families.
The state Police Public Relations Officer,
Mr. Etim Dickson, said the police did not
shoot anybody.

He said that the story was false and that
the police were ready to defend it.
He said, “We were monitoring the
demolishing team. After the University of
Uyo incident, no policeman has shot
anybody. The police did not even go there
with baton.
“They were all there in their vehicles.
What they did was to throw teargas to
disperse the shop owners. The accusation
is wrong.”
All attempts to reach the chairman,
UCCDA, Mr. Ignatius Edet, proved
abortive as he did not respond to his calls
or text messages sent to his telephone.

Yero, Chime, Jang: We Won’t Join New PDP

Contrary to media reports that more Peoples’
Democratic Party, PDP, governors have agreed to
join the “New PDP” led by Abubakar Baraje, some
of the governors have distanced themselves from
the move.

The governors are the Plateau State Governor,
Jonah Jang; Kaduna State Governor, Ramalan Yero;
and the Enugu State Governor, Sullivan Chime.
Jang, who is the factional chairman of Nigeria
Governors’ Forum, denied being party to such plans.

He spoke through his Commissioner for Information
and Communication, Abraham Yiljap.
“I can only ask how can?” said Yiljap.
“How can he (Jang) abandon a house he built and
live in another person’s house. It is just unthinkable
and somebody’s wishful thinking,” he stressed.

Gov. Ramalan Yero of Kaduna State said reports
about him planning to join the New PDP were
untrue and the figment of the imagination of
mischief makers.
Speaking through Ahmed Maiyaki, his Director
General on Media and Publicity, Yero said, “This is
totally untrue. It is the figment of the imagination
of those behind such wild rumours.”

Enugu State Commissioner for Information, Mr.
Chuks Ugwoke, also dismissed insinuations that the
state Governor, Sullivan Chime, was planning to
ditch the Bamanga Tukur-led PDP for the New PDP.
According to him, “It is not true at all. That can
never happen. Never!
“It would never happen. Governor Chime is 100 per
cent with President Jonathan. The governor is even
the one making others to see reasons to be with
the President”, Ugwoke maintained.

N466 Billion Revenue Deficit: More Governors set to oppose Jonathan

There are
indications that the raging revenue
allocation crises between the
presidency and the State governors
may spite more governors to go
against President Goodluck
Jonathan.

All the governors are said to be very
displeased with the Federal Government
over the non-payment of the three
months’ allocations by the Dr. Ngozi
Okonjo-Iweala-led Ministry of Finance.
The 36 states governors of the federation
had lamented over the non-receipt of
their arrears of about N466 billion from
the federation action for about three
months.

It is pertinent to recall that the Chairman
of Finance Commissioners Forum, Timothy
Odaah had rejected the recent allocation
from the Office of Accountant General of
the federation allocations on the basis
that the states were being owed N336
billion, with the N75 billion being the
balance of the July 2013 arrears, N121
billion from June augmentation and over
N90 billion as July augmentation.

It has also become glaring that all the 36
state governors are not happy about the
piece rate system which the federal
government has resorted to in allocating
revenues due to them.
According to a northern governor, whose
state is said to be currently “been
grounded” due to insufficient allocation
from the federations account has
confirmed that most of the governors are
now “quite upset over the financial
distress imposed on us by the Federal
Government.”
The governor who is said to be one of the
strongest supporters of Jonathan is also
seriously fighting tooth and nail to meet
up with the financial obligations of his
administration.

He however spoke anonymously recently
revealing thus: “If urgent steps were not
taken by the Presidency to put an end to
the emerging financial crisis in the states,
more governors would be forced to
distance themselves from Aso Rock Villa
and the Finance Minister.
“We are afraid that if the current
situation, which we believe is artificially
created so as to punish some states and
their governors is not stopped, many
governors would be left with no option
than to seek redress.

“It is difficult for the Finance Minister to
convince us that after generating N1.05
trillion in July this year, a figure that was
well over the projection by government
for the month, states could not be paid
their full allocations for the month.
“As we speak, we have not been paid for
August and September while our people
are anxiously looking up to us as
governors to give them dividends of
democracy through provision of life-
changing projects.
“In almost all the states, the salaries and
emoluments of civil and public servants
have not been paid while contractors are
on edge waiting to do battle with the
governors.

“If we may ask, where has all the money
gone since Okonjo-Iweala keeps insisting
that the economy is robust and kicking?”,
he queried.
Although the G-7 comprising of the “rebel
governors of the Abubakar Baraje-led
New PDP” have already publicized their
displeasure that their governments are
experiencing financial stress while the
supporters of Jonathan due to loyalty, are
finding it hard to lay theirs bare in public
view.
Another governor from the South has also
lamented over the situation stating that
the financial position of his state is so bad
that he now avoids his office due to daily
throng of contractors who besiege his
office to ask for funds.
“I have no genuine excuse to give since
they won’t believe that for the past three
months we have not been given our full
remittances by the centre.

“This is what we have been exposed to by
the Federal Government even with
increased revenue confirmed by the
Central Bank of Nigeria accruing to the
purse of the government.
“Nigerians should be more vigilant by
asking the Finance Minister where our
money is being kept. Let them tell
Nigerians what happened to the balance
of the N1.05 trillion that accrued to
Nigeria after N792billion was shared to
states for July.
“We have made the point that it is either
they are hiding our money for 2015
elections or they are deliberately
manipulating the economy to give
Nigerians the impression that all is well
when the nation is broke.”
The Accountant-General of the Federation
(AGF), Jonah Otunla, called the Chairman
of Commissioners Forum to collect a
paltry sum of N75 billion released by the
Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation
(NNPC) out of the outstanding N466
billion of the state government
allocations.

The Federal Government, through the
AGF, was reported to have raised
N548.393 billion as the Statutory
Revenue for the three tiers of
government for August after it met tough
resistance from the state governments.
Most obviously, the President now risks
more opposition from some other
governors who are said to be on the
verge of an outburst after an internal
implosion when they can no longer
withstand the situation.

Breaking: Nigeria Polytechnic lecturers, ASUP, vow to resume nationwide strike on Friday

The Academic Staff Union of
Polytechnics, ASUP, announced on
Saturday that it has resolved to
resume its suspended nationwide
strike from next week, following
failure of the federal government to
fulfil its agreement with the union.
The union had been on several weeks
of strike, but suspended it on July 17
following the intervention of federal
lawmakers in its negotiation with the
federal government.
The National Publicity Secretary of the
union, Chirman Clement, in a
statement on Saturday said the union
took the decision at her 75th National
Executive Council (NEC) meeting held
at the Federal Polytechnic Bida, Niger
State and resolved to resume the
suspended strike on October 4.
“In view of the continued insincerity of
Government to honour the agreement
reached with ASUP, NEC resolves that
the union will resume the suspended
strike with effect from 4th October,
2013.
The lecturers also lamented the
decaying standard of polytechnic
education and solicited the assistance
of the National Assembly, parents, and
other notable groups to assist in
revamping polytechnic education in
Nigeria.
They passed a vote of no confidence on
the National Board for Technical
Education, NBTE, and called for the
immediate establishment of a National
Polytechnics Commission (NPC) to
proactively cater for the needs of the
sector.
Below is the full communiqué released
by the polytechnic lecturers.

COMMUNIQUE OF THE 75TH
NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL
(NEC) OF THE ACADEMIC STAFF
UNION OF POLYTECHNICS (ASUP)
HELD AT FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC,
BIDA NIGER STATE, FROM 24 – 28TH
SEPTEMBER, 2013 PREAMBLE:

The National Executive Council (NEC)
of the Academic Staff Union of
Polytechnics (ASUP) met for her 75th
NEC Meeting at the Federal
Polytechnic Bida, Niger State where
the following national issues were
observed, discussed, and resolutions
on them were reached:

OBSRVATIONS:

1. The frustrating inertia of the
Federal Government to convincingly
fulfill any of the promises and
agreements reached with the union
before the suspension of the strike on
17th July, 2013 on CONTISS 15
Migration for Lower cadres, Needs
Assessment of Polytechnics, release of
Whitepaper of visitation to Federal
polytechnics, discrimination between
polytechnics and university graduates
in job placement and career
progression and the constitution of
Governing Councils to Federal
polytechnics earlier omitted.
2. The anti-labour stance of the
National Assembly as exemplified by
the recently proposed removal of
minimum wage from the exclusive
legislative list of the constitution to the
concurrent list; as well as the proposed
legislation against declaration of
Industrial Strike by unions in the
tertiary sector;
3. The growing tension in the nation’s
polity as a result of the volatile
comments and activities of politicians
and interest groups;
4. Government’s abuse of the laws
establishing TETfund;
5. The culpable lack of commitment of
the National Board for Technical
Education (NBTE) to meeting the needs
and demands of polytechnic education
in Nigeria.
6. Appointment of rectors/provosts
from within polytechnic/monotechnics
sector

RESOLUTIONS:

In the light of the
above, NEC resolves:
1. That Government should without
delay address all the outstanding
standing issues including the NEEDS
Assessments of the polytechnics and
the corresponding funding,
constitution of the Governing Councils
of the remaining Federal polytechnics,
CONITSS 15 Migration of the Lower
Cadres, the removal of disparity
between HND and Degree certificates,
establishment of the National
Polytechnics Commission (NPC),
release of the Whitepaper of the
visitation panels to polytechnics;
2. That the National Assembly should
rescind from its current anti-labour
posture in the interest of industrial
peace and our desperate move to
rescue the endangered soul of the
tertiary institutions in the country;
3. That the National Assembly should
expedite action on the review of the
Polytechnic Act;
4. That a vote of no confidence be
passed the NBTE and further calls for
the immediate establishment of a
National Polytechnics Commission
(NPC) to proactively cater for the
needs of the sector;
5. That the Nigerian political class and
other interest groups should exercise
restraint on their utterances and
activities in the interest of peace, unity
and security of the nation;
6. That the Federal Government
should desist from abuse of TETfund
laws;
7. That stakeholders in the education
sector such as parents, students,
religious leaders, the press, members
of States and National assemblies to
rise to their responsibilities of
rescuing the (polytechnic) education
sector from imminent collapse;
8. That the position of ASUP on the
need to appoint the rectors from
within the polytechnic system remains
irreversible;
9. That in view of the continued
insincerity of Government to honour
the agreement reached with ASUP,
NEC resolves that the union will
resume the suspended strike with
effect from 4th October, 2013. NEC
sincerely appreciates the good people
of Nigeria and all other stakeholders in
the education sector for their
sustained support in its struggles to
save the polytechnic education from
total collapse in Nigeria.

Ice Prince’s Producer Chopstix Reveals Details About Fire of Zamani

Ice Prince’s producer Chopstix who came
up with the hits ‘Aboki’, ‘V.I.P’ and
‘More’ has exclusively revealed to
HipHopWorld Online details surrounding
Fire of Zamani- Ice Prince’s sophomore
effort. In an interview with the producer
he said the album will contain 15-17
tracks and will be a fusion of Hip Hop,
Afro Pop, Highlife and other genres.
Chopstix who is also a member of the
group Grip Boyz said the album will
feature guest appearances from Wizkid,
Sound Sultanand others. In earlier
interviews Ice Prince has mentioned that
French Montana, Wale and Chipmunk will
be the foreign guests on his LP. Chopstix
won’t be the only man behind the boards
as Ice Prince enlisted the services of Don
Jazzy, Sarz and Sammy Gyang to produce
tracks on the album.

It would be recalled that on the 25th of
January, 2013, Iceprince, the 2013 BET
awards – Best International Act (Africa)
winner, released one of the most
anticipated songs of the Year- the
monstrous remix to his 2012 hit, Aboki.
Iceprincewho is now regarded as
Chocolate City’s main breadwinner
followed up this single with new singles in
May; Gimme Dat andVIP, continuing work
with Chopstix as producer. The track VIP
was criticized for bearing so much
resemblance to his previous singles, Aboki
and Aboki Remix. He later released
another single – I Swear featuring French
Montana. These songs are expected to
feature on his upcoming studio album
which is a follow up to his successsful
2011 – EverybodyLoves Iceprince (ELI)
debut album.

Rivers crisis: Sack CP Mbu now or face strike – Labour threatens Police IG

The crisis in Rivers State, caused by the
battle for supremacy between the state
governor, Rotimi Amaechi and the state
Commissioner of Police, Mbu Joseph Mbu,
took a dramatic turn yesterday as the
labour organizations in the state have laid
down a deadline for the removal or
redeployment of the Commissioner of
Police.
The Rivers State chapters of the Nigeria
Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade
Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) have
issued an ultimatum to the Inspector-
General of Police (IGP), Mohammed
Abubakar, and the Police Service
Commission (PSC) to redeploy Mbu or
face an indefinite strike.
The organizations, while announcing the
21-day ultimatum, also reportedly
demanded that the IGP and the police
commissioner tender their unreserved
apologies for using teargas to chase away
13,000 newly-employed teachers who
were at the Liberation Stadium on
Wednesday to collect their posting
letters.
The organised labour also described the
actions and inactions of Mbu as invitation
to anarchy in Rivers State, insisting that
the police commissioner must be
redeployed forthwith to avert imminent
industrial disharmony in Rivers State.
The Rivers Chairman of the NLC, Chief
Chris Oruge, and his counterpart of the
TUC, Chika Onuegbu, at a joint news
conference yesterday at the NLC
Secretariat, D-Line, Port Harcourt,
declared that the issues raised by the
organised labour must be addressed
expeditiously, declaring that they were
not afraid of blackmail.
Amaechi and Mbu had been at
loggerheads since the police
commissioner’s redeployment from the
Oyo State Command in February, with
the NGF chairman declaring that the only
condition for peace in the state would be
the redeployment of Mbu who was
accused of taking sides and described as a
politician.
The Senate and the House of
Representatives, in separate resolutions,
before they proceeded on recess, also
called for the immediate redeployment of
the Rivers police commissioner, but the
IGP later stated that Mbu was a
professional police officer and would
remain in Rivers State.
On the allegation of being bribed by
Amaechi to discredit Mbu and embark on
strike, the NLC chairman stated that
people had the right to say whatever they
liked, but they must crosscheck the facts.

There are reports that ex-BBA Kenya

2013, Prezzo was reported to have had a
scuffle over a parking space outside Aqua
Blue Lounge, Nairobi, Kenya.

dragged him off into his car and drove off.
The Colonel was said to have been rushed

Award Winning Director Kunle Afolayan Talks About His Obsession For Filmmaking & Possible Early Death

Award winning director, Kunle Afolayan
has been working round the clock to make
the premiere of his new movie October 1
to align with Nigeria’s independence
celebration. He however took to his
facebook page to share his fears over his
obsession for filmmaking. See what he
wrote on his Facebook page below.

“I was only mocking Beverly,” says Afrocandy

Nigerian adult movie actress, Afrocandy,
has denied inviting Nigeria’s ex-Big
Brother Africa housemate, Beverly Osu to
star in her movie.
According to Afrocandy, she was not
serious about the offer and was merely
mocking Beverly.                      According
to her, “Fact is, I wasn’t even serious
about the so-called offer, I was just
mocking her, and if you read my post, it
was rather sarcastic. I didn’t expect it to
go viral and how could anybody even take
that serious?”
Afrocandy  had earlier said that she could
see that the sexy Nigerian model has got
what it takes to partake in her
production.
She had written, “You got all it takes to
partake in my kind of Productions: Guts,
the heart and the ability to get naked and
have sex in Pubic without giving a crap.”
