African/Nigerian rapper M.I is set to unleash a
new single which features Veteran rapper Nas
and Senegalese star Youssou N’Dour .

HipTV can authoritatively claim
that Chocolate City rapper; M.I
Abaga has recorded a song with
American rap heavyweight Nas.
The song also features Senegalese
star Youssou N’Dour. The title of
the track and the release date
wasn’t revealed, but sources close
to the award winning rapper is
considering whether to release the
track as his next single.

The song is the first collaboration M.I will have
with an international Hip Hop act. His label mate
Ice Prince collaborated with US rappers Wale and
French Montana on his last album Fire of Zamani.
M.I’s last album M.I 2 was released in 2010.

Rapper Olamide expecting a child with long-time girlfriend

All you Naija celebrity men know you can have sex (plenty of it sef) without getting any woman pregnant, right? Olamide has joined the growing list of celebs having kids outside marriage as his long-time girlfriend, Adebukunmi Aisha Suleiman, is said to be expecting a baby.

Bukunmi is the same girl he flaunts on his instagram page (though he recently deleted most of her pics from his page) and calls her the 'love of his life' and 'boo from day one'. Congrats to them.

Breaking News! Missing Malaysian plane plunged in the Southern Indian Ocean- PM

British investigators have concluded that missing
Malaysia Airlines Flight 370's last position was in
the middle of the Indian Ocean west of Perth,
Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak
Najib Razak told a press conference new analysis
by the UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch and
tracking firm Inmarsat suggested the flight ended
in the southern Indian Ocean.
Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 vanished from
civilian radar screens less than an hour after
take-off from Kuala Lumpur for Beijing with 239
people on board on March 8.No confirmed
sighting of the plane has been made since, but
much debris has been found in remote waters off
Australia which might be part of the missing
plane.

Both of the announcements were made as an
Australian navy ship was on its way today to
retrieve two new objects spotted by military
aircraft in the search for the missing Malaysia
Airlines jet.

After crying helplessly for nearly 24 hours inside
a soak away pit, a day old-baby was over the
weekend rescued from a pit in Olomore area of
Abeokuta North local government of Ogun state.
An eyewitness said that residents of Surulere
community in Olomore area of Abeokuta North
woke up to a cry of a little baby coming from a
soak away toilet behind a church in the area.
Residents said they'd heard the baby crying in
the early hours of Saturday morning but could
not link the cries to a particular direction.
However, later in the day, around 6pm, the baby’s
crying became more pronounced and they traced
it to a soak-away pit. There, they found the baby,
a boy, who was alive with his placenta uncut.

The pit slab cover had collapsed some years ago
and had not been replaced. The damaged slab
concrete saved the baby from going deep into the

Reps Probe petroleum minister for N10billion private jet expenses

The House of Representatives yesterday passed a
resolution to probe the expenditures of the
Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani
Alison-Maduekwe, on a private jet she allegedly
charters for private use and maintains with public
funds.

According to the sponsor of the bill, Hon Samuel
Adejare who represents Lagos State, the minister
maintains the jet with 500,000euros or N130
million monthly
"Thus, in the last two years, the minister
has committed at least N3.120bn to
maintaining the private jet, which is used
solely for her personal needs and those of
her immediate family, which is an appalling
act"he said. He said the frequent use of the
Jet by the Minister and her family members
has caused an estimated N10billion to be
spent on it for maintenance, fuel, payment of
crew members, hanger rentage and others.
In a unanimous vote, the house members
adopted the resolution and mandated its
committee on Public Accounts to investigate the
matter and provide results within 3weeks.

In a related development, a member of the House,
Hon Aminu Suleiman through a motion he
presented to the house, revealed that the Nigeria
Liquified Natural Gas NLNG had not remitted any
of its generated revenue to the federation account
since 2004 till date. The house committee on
Natural Gas was directed to investigate the claims
by Hon Aminu.

President Jonathan summons Interior Minister, Immigration boss

President Jonathan this morning summoned the Minister of Interior, Abba Moro and the Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Parradang, to explain last Saturday's unfortunate incident at the poorly organized NIS recruitment exercise where over ten people died during stampedes at various test centres.

 The two ministers both arrived at the office of the Chief of Staff where they spent sometime before being invited into the President's office where they spent about 30mins. Both men declined to speak to reports on their discussion with the President when they came out. 

Hopefully, someone will explain to us why the government would ask jobless youths to pay N1,000 to write employment test.

NDLEA drug accusation messed up my acting career’ – Baba Suwe

In a recent interview with Encomium mag, popular Yoruba comic actor Baba Suwe said that he has not received any money from NDLEA as damages and that the ‘false accusation’ has damaged his acting career and most of his friends don’t want to associate with him anymore… “I have not collected any money. The most painful thing is that I was wrongfully accused. Had it been I actually committed the crime, I wouldn’t mind but they punished me for nothing. I was in NDLEA for almost three weeks and nothing was found on me. No matter the kind of juju one may have used, I don’t think there is anybody that can even conceal cocaine for even two days. It would burst inside the person’s stomach which may lead to death. And I believe after all their investigations, they should have released me so that I can continue with my career. But the whole situation, the way I was treated actually rubbished my image. My career has been dwindling. A lot of people who are supposed to be inviting me to take part in their movies abandoned me because of that incident. Chris Brown jailed after being thrown out of rehab...

According to a TMZ report, Chris Brown was
arrested in Malibu yesterday after getting kicked
out of rehab for violating rules...

Chris Brown is in jail right now, because he
violated a judge's order by getting booted
from the rehab facility where he's been
living for nearly 4 months ... TMZ has
learned. The judge in the Rihanna beating
case ordered Chris to live in the Malibu
rehab facility for 90 days to get anger
management therapy, and he completed the
stint earlier this month.

But ... at the last
court hearing, the judge modified things and
ordered Chris to stay in the facility while the
Washington D.C. assault case ran its
course.The deal was this ... if Chris left
rehab, he would go directly to jail.Sources
familiar with the situation tell TMZ ...

Brown
was thrown out of the rehab facility this
morning, for violating "internal rules." We
do not know precisely what Chris did, but
we're told it did not involve violence or
drugs.Sources tell TMZ ... Chris was caught
having "an inappropriate relationship" with a
female worker at the beginning of the month,
but that is NOT why he was thrown out
today.As you recall, Chris was previously
thrown out of a different facility for throwing
a rock at his mom's car window. Chris was
picked up by L.A. County Sheriff's deputies
this afternoon and is now in jail ...being
held with no bail.

Was it a terrorist attack? Malaysian plane has still not been found

How does a plane full of people disappear without
any trace? The Malaysian Airlines flight MH307
that vanished off the coast of Vietnam two hours
after taking off at Kuala Lumpur airport with 239
people on board has still not been found and now
there are fears that the plane may have been
taken down by terrorists because nothing else
makes sense, the weather was great, the pilots
were experienced, the plane was new, there was
no distress call and now it's been discovered that
4 people on the flight traveled on passport stolen
in Thailand and the tickets they used were bought
through a Chinese airline.

One passport was
registered to an Italian and another to an
Austrian.

Malaysian security officials say they have footage
of 2 passengers traveling on those stolen
passports as they made their way through the
airport to the aircraft. They now are investigating
these men.

Malaysian Airlines jet carrying 227 passengers vanishes over Vietnam 2hours after takeoff

 A major search has been launched for a Malaysian Airlines jet with 239 people on board after it lost contact flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
Airline officials admitted they were gravely concerned for the safety of the aircraft, which was carrying four Americans and seven Australians, as well as passengers from France and China.

Crying relatives of Chinese passengers on board the plane wept at Beijing airport as it became clear the jet had probably crashed.
An unconfirmed report on a flight tracking website said the aircraft had plunged 650ft and changed course shortly before all contact was lost.

The route would have taken flight MH370, a B777-200 aircraft, across the Malaysian mainland in a north-easterly direction and then across the Gulf of Thailand.
Those on board included two infants and 12 crew members, Malaysian Airlines said in a statement, adding it was working with all authorities in the region and search and rescue teams had been mobilized.

As well as the American and Australian passengers, the aircraft was carrying 153 Chinese, 38 Malaysians, 12 Indonesians and 32 people from France.
The aircraft had been due to land in Beijing at 6.30am local time but at 7.54am the airline issued a statement saying it had not landed and was officially missing.

Aviation experts said that if the report of the aircraft suddenly plunging was correct it could be due to a number of factors.

Presidency defends Abacha’s Centenary Award honour

has explained why late military dictator Gen. Sani
Abacha was given the controversial Centenary
Award, saying that the government was in no way
supporting corrupt practices...

"This (award) does not in any means
translate to supporting sharp practices or
corrupt practices. It is important to make
the clear distinction in this regard.
I think it is important to make the necessary
distinction here. The centenary award, like
every award, has its own criteria. That
centenary award was in relation to the
amalgamation, the national unity, the history
of Nigeria and the roles played by certain
individuals.

The centenary award was not a test of
sainthood. In giving the award to the former
Head of State, Gen. Abacha, the committee
in charge made it very clear that the award
in the category in which the former Head of
State appeared was awarded with regard to
the contributions of those individuals in

A Nigerian staying illegally in Thailand for 14
months has been arrested on both immigration
and drug charges after officers found crystal
methamphetamines hidden in his anus.
A suspiciously acting Godwin Chinedu
Agbarakwe, 35, was stopped by Pattaya Tourist
Police on a Third Road side street on 24
February. A cavity search of his person revealed
the drug in his anus.
Police said Friday that the suspect claimed he
turned to selling drugs when his clothing import-
export business failed.
Officers said the Nigerian entered Thailand on a
three-month visa on 8 September 2012.
He’s been overstaying that visa since 8
December, 2012.

13 students hospitalised in Lagos after inhaling poisonous fumes

13 students of Ogba Junior Grammah School,
Ogba, in Ojodu Lagos collapsed yesterday March
6th after inhaling an unidentified poisonous
fumes discharged from one of the cottage
factories in Ogba Shopping Arcade, Vanguard
reports.

This came four months after 25 of the
students of the same school collapsed after
inhaling an unidentified chemical waste
discharged into drainage by a Photo
Laboratory, situated in the Shopping Arcade.

When Vanguard visited the school, the
management and staff were wondering which
company would have discharged such hazardous
fumes this time around.

Also, our correspondent observed that parents of
the students raced to the scene to verify the
condition of their children. While those whose
children weren’t affected by the emission rushed
them back home, some were also sighted wailing
over the ugly incident.

Mr. Oladokun, the father of one of the victims,
who rushed to the scene immediately he heard of
the incident, said: “I was in the office when my
wife called me that my daughter, who is in JSS 3
was also affected.”

The incidents was said to have occurred at about
12:40 pm while the students were still in their
classes.
Vanguard gathered that the leak of the dangerous
gas was least expected as it enveloped the
premises making the victims unconscious.

Officials of the National Emergency management
Agency, NEMA and its Lagos state counterpart,
LASEMA and the Lagos State Environmental
Health Monitoring Unit, SEHMU arrived the scene
and rushed the unconscious victims to the Lagos
State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, Ikeja
for treatment.

Of the 13 affected students, one was a male while
the rest were females. Vanguard investigation
revealed that one of the students was in critical
condition and has been admitted at the Intensive
Care Unit.
Some of the affected students were: Tijani
Mariam, Subaidat Oladokun, Adebiyi Taiwo, Muiz
Rodiat, Ogunbami Omolade, Onaigbe Blessing,
Karimat Akiode, Rasak Gbolahan and Modupe
Idowu.
Vanguard learnt that although the company
responsible for discharging the chemical was yet
to be identified, the state government has shut
the school and the shopping complex indefinitely.
